Four people have died after a small plane suddenly crashed into a field following a collision with power lines, as an investigation begins into the cause of the tragedy.
Images from the scene show debris scattered across a field and a nearby road after the aircraft – a single-engine Cessna 180 – plummeted from the sky over Illinois in the United States. The crash site is located southeast of Coles County Memorial Airport, although it is unclear whether this was the aircraft’s intended destination. Illinois State Police confirmed in a statement that all four individuals were from Menomonie, Wisconsin, and died in the incident.
