Baby girl dies after being left in scorching hot car by her father

A New Jersey man has been arrested for leaving his eight-week-old daughter in a hot car to die while he went to his synagogue. Avraham Chaitovsky, 28, is accused of leaving the girl while he was in Kollel Cheshek Shlomo synagogue in Lakewood, with temperatures scorching past 90°F.

Police rushed to a call on Monday around 1:45 pm for a child in cardiac arrest, but she was later pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, on Monday, a two-year-old boy also passed away after being left in a hot car in Monticello, New York.

It comes amid a series of child deaths in scorching vehicles as boiling weather hits America. At least 12 are reported to have passed away so far this year.
