A small plane carrying six people has crashed into a muddy field in New York, killing everyone on board.
At the time of the crash, the twin-engine aircraft was en route to Columbia County Airport, near Hudson, New York, on Saturday. Officials have stated that the wet and snowy conditions have made response efforts challenging.
Columbia County’s Undersheriff Jacqueline Salvatore explained: ‘It’s in the middle of a field and it’s pretty muddy, so accessibility is difficult.’
This marks the fourth plane crash in the United States within the past week, following a helicopter that plunged into the Hudson River in New York, killing a Spanish family of five.
