Blondie drummer Clem Burke has died following a private battle with cancer, as tributes begin to pour in.
The legendary rock ‘n’ roller was a founding member of the new wave band, adored by millions and described today as the “source of inspiration” for their incredible success. The group’s Debbie Harry and Chris Stein shared a touching tribute to the much-loved musician, who lost his private fight with the disease this weekend.
The band added that the talented Clem was a “self proclaimed Rock & Roll survivalist”, before listing several iconic artists he had collaborated with, including Bob Dylan, Bob Geldof, Iggy Pop, The Romantics and the Go-Go’s.
