Hollywood legend has died aged 63 leaving family in ‘shock’

Rapper and Hollywood movie star Gene Allen has died at the age of 63. The star, whose middle name was ‘Groove,’ passed away suddenly at home, leaving his family in shock, it has been claimed.

The family also told TMZ that Gene died on Wednesday.

Gene appeared in a number of films, including the 1990 comedy House Party and its sequel, as well as the 1993 Tina Turner film What’s Love Got to Do With It?, starring Angela Bassett.

He also played a ‘street photographer’ in the 1992 film Boomerang, alongside Eddie Murphy, Robin Givens, and Halle Berry. Allen later worked extensively in voiceover roles and took on radio gigs after his film career.
