Horror as 31 schoolchildren injured in double decker crash with tractor

MORE than thirty schoolchildren have been injured in a horrific crash after a double-decker bus collided with a tractor. The crash caused chaos on Wednesday, as an air ambulance rushed to the A1035 Leas Lane near Seaton, East Yorkshire, at 3.30pm.

A girl and a boy, both aged 15, were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Humberside Police confirmed that a further 29 children, aged between 11 and 16, sustained minor injuries.

Horrified parent Donna Cooper described how her 15-year-old daughter was on the bus and had her front teeth knocked out. Ms Cooper told the BBC: “All I got was part of a video call and all I could see was blood everywhere.

“When I got there, it was just carnage. “When I eventually found her, she was stood with a bandage to her mouth and when she took it away there was blood everywhere.”

The mum said her daughter had “suffered quite bad facial trauma”.
