Two ‘vulnerable’ British pensioners have been found dead inside a home on the Costa Blanca. The grim discovery was made in San Fulgencio, about 45 minutes south of Alicante, Spain, after the pair failed to answer calls and someone spotted part of a body lying on the floor inside the property.
The bodies are believed to have remained undiscovered for several days, but no obvious signs of a crime were found at the scene. Autopsy results will determine how the investigation progresses.
The Civil Guard is leading the investigation and has not confirmed the couple’s nationalities, but local sources have stated they were British.
It is understood that both the man and woman suffered from chronic illnesses and had been categorised by social services as ‘vulnerable’. The bodies were those of a man and a woman, but their relationship to each other is not known.
