A nurse who was stabbed by a patient at a hospital in Greater Manchester has been described as a “lovely and popular” mother-of-two by a colleague. The victim, aged in her 50s, sustained “life-changing” injuries during the attack, which took place in the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) of the Royal Oldham Hospital late last night.
A staff member, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed that he knew the “experienced” nurse, who has been employed at the hospital for approximately a decade.
He said: “The nurse is lovely lady. She is in her 50s and has two children and is an active and popular member of the community in Oldham.
“She’s a very nice lady and is member of the Indian Association Oldham (IAO).”
He also mentioned that the nurse is currently being treated at a different hospital, and he had not spoken to her husband as he remains too upset.
