Man in life-threatening condition after horrific attack outside McDonald’s

A man is critically ill in hospital after being punched in the face outside a McDonald’s last night.

The man, who is in his 30s, suffered a serious head injury after the blow caused him to collapse on the pavement at the junction of Hanover Street and Ranelagh Street in Liverpool.

According to police, he was visiting the city for a night out, and four men from the Midlands, who are believed to be known to him, are now in custody on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

The suspects are a 19-year-old man from Redditch, a 26-year-old man from Birmingham, a 37-year-old man from Birmingham, and a 31-year-old man from Hollywood, Worcestershire.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Parry said: ‘This assault has left the victim in a critical condition during what should have been an enjoyable night out in Liverpool.’
