A knife-wielding suspect and at least six others have been injured following a police-involved shooting in New York. The incident occurred after an unidentified man attacked several children with a meat cleaver in Bensonhurst, according to law enforcement sources who spoke to amNewYork.
It took place at approximately 10:30am on Sunday. Footage from the chaotic scene, meanwhile, showed a female victim covered head-to-toe in blood.
Other clips show officers gathered in the vicinity of 17th Avenue and 84th Street, after at least one discharged their weapon at the suspect.
Insiders and witnesses alike reported that EMS removed one adult and two children from the scene, with one of the youngsters currently in critical condition at Maimonides Medical Centre.
